Dear Child,
It’s been a while… I’m back at school, I’m starting my new job officially in a few days and it’s been generally very hectic. It’s also very difficult writing to you. There’s so much I want to tell you, that I’m not sure where to begin, so I’ll start with now.
I’m sitting with your mother, talking about our scan (we get to take a picture of you in a few days), and watching a movie called Marley and Me. It’s definitely one of my favorite movies! It’s about a guy and his dog, and I love dogs. Well, I don’t have a Marley, but we have Charlie the kitten. He’s a little crazy (right now he’s busy attacking the TV), seriously! I didn’t know cats can be crazy, but he’s fun!
The young girl I was in London visiting seems to be doing better. Hopefully, you’ll get to meet her soon. She has a terrible disease called Cancer. I won’t go into the details, but I run to get money for charities that will (hopefully) help cure this disease so you won’t have to worry about it. Since you’re still an angel, I would like to ask you to pray for her while you’re in there!
Well, on to happier topics. We’re watching Marley and Me. Your mother and I first watched it on a flight going somewhere and she insists that I cried at the end (I won’t spoil it for you), but I promise you I did not. It’s a great movie, and I feel I may also be going through a midlife crisis, though I’m only 32 so I’m not quite sure I qualify!
I’ve been going out a little more than usual since I found out about you. I am not sure why, but I guess it has something to do with a significant change in our life. We can no longer be selfish and think only of ourselves, we now need to think about you and the future we will give you.
Well, enough with the melodrama. I’ll leave you for now.
Sleep tight.
Love,
Dad
